At AffCo, we’re transforming how nonprofits, asset owners, and property managers ensure compliance with affordable housing statutes. AffCo was founded in 2024 by Mario Brown and Anthony Thompson, two entrepreneurs who saw firsthand the challenges property owners and nonprofits face in staying compliant with affordable housing regulations.

Since its inception, AffCo has been growing rapidly, expanding its reach across North and South Carolina. With plans to scale into new markets, our aim to make compliance easier, more accurate, and accessible for property owners and managers nationwide. Mario is an affordable housing developer with over $160MM in assets under management in the Southeast. His expertise in preserving and revitalizing affordable housing has been pivotal to the success of numerous multifamily properties. With a hands-on approach to addressing complex housing challenges, Mario co-founded AffCo to streamline compliance monitoring. His drive to innovate came from the inefficiencies he encountered in managing housing portfolios, where manual processes often led to errors and delays.
